Since when does PROTECTION means PROPERTY NATIONALISATION?
(We want justice and are claiming for the respect of private property of all buildings legally constructed in Formentera prior to the Coast Law of 1988).
Our aim with this website is to make the public aware of the problem of the demarcation of Formetera's coastline (which was approved by the Spanish Courts in 1997). We also want to focus attention on the causes of this problem with its implications for local people and their futures.
Our final objective is to ask the Spanish government to understand the reality of the problem of the current demarcation of the island and to take responsibility about it. A demarcation line that ignores the geographical, historical and economical identity of Formentera.
We ask for your support and signature on this petition to ask the Spanish Government and other official bodies to reassess this demarcation and, in any case, to ask that older private property built pre-1988 be respected. Those buildings were constructed having all the appropriate licenses and legal authority required by our Administration at that time.
Thank you very much for your collaboration. Platform against the Coast Demarcation of the Formentera contact
